レッツスパイダーコロング!!! Let's spiderclong!
Oh boy! So, I love languages to the n+2th degree and a half: I speak Esperanto,
I kinda sorta ehhh speak Spanish and French (I need so much practice),
and I am making two languages for the book I'm writing: Ssooffos and Ksu. This page'll be all about updates on the languages, and language learning guides!
Ah, the book won't be out for quite a long time. I'm quite busy with college, after all.
As such, I don't have much time to work on the languages, but gosh darnit if I'm not gonna try.
Projects:
- Ssooffos ([zˠːʟːvːɤ̞̠s ~ s͈ˠːʟːf͈ːɤ̞̠s])
- Phonolgy: mostly complete
- Grammar: rough idea
- Script: but a figment of my imagination at the moment
- Usage in the book: very widespread (place names, character names, phrases, puns, and more)
- Usage in the world: mainly Humans; widespread in the countries of Alief Koffoosson and Enyrahasu'ritøø, official language of both countries
- Extra notes: takes a LOT of lonewords from Kwsu, but has a radically different phonology which makes it all quite silly (to me, that is)
- Kwsu ([kʷs̩ʷu])
- Phonolgy: rough idea
- Grammar: rough idea
- Script: but a figment of my imagination at the moment
- Usage in the book: sometimes used (place names, character names, religious terms)
- Usage in the world: VERY widespread in Elves (almost all of them speak it or related languages) and all Zarkanists due to religious history;
national language of Zentslin, one of three official languages of Alief Koffoosson
- Extra notes: due to religious and cultural history, almost all Kwsu words are in a closed class, similar to Navajo in real life
- Kaalean
- Phonolgy: but a figment of my imagination at the moment; very likely to change
- Grammar: not started at all
- Script: nothing yet
- Usage in the book: seldom used (only a few place names and character names)
- Usage in the world: Extremely widespread by the peak of Kaathan's civilization, dwindles to less than 5000 speakers by the end of the Wars of Twilight
- Meks language
- Phonolgy: nothing
- Grammar: nothing
- Script: nothing
- Usage in the book: the name of one character and her family
- Usage in the world: only used in Meks
